Veterinary Assistant

Shannen Oliva joined the team in March 2024 as a Veterinary Assistant. Shannen started in human medicine, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in ICU/IMCU, Spinal Rehab, and Pediatric ER for 8 years. After her first pet of 13 years, Mia, passed to thyroid and cardiac issues, Shannen decided to take her skills and passion for animals to the field of Veterinary Medicine. She has worked in general practice for 7 years and strives to advocate for the quality of life and care of her patients. Outside of the hospital, Shannen cares for her small zoo – 6 cats, 2 snakes, 2 lizards and multiple fish tanks. She and her husband love music, video games and fostering kittens and bottle babies in their spare time.
